World Time and Clocks

The measurement of time has occupied scientists and technologists, and was a prime motivation in astronomy. Time is also of significant social importance, having economic value ("time is money") as well as personal value, due to an awareness of the limited time in each day and in human lifespans.

The measurement of time is so critical to the functioning of modern societies that it is coordinated at an international level. The basis for scientific time is a continuous count of seconds based on atomic clocks around the world, known as the International Atomic Time (TAI). This is the yardstick for other time scales, including Coordinated Universal Time (UTC), which is the basis for civil time. Earth is split up into a number of time zones. Most time zones are exactly one hour apart, and by convention compute their local time as an offset from Greenwich Mean Time. Wikipedia

About Clocks:

Clocks are more than just mere timepieces. They come in various sizes, shapes, and are made from different materials. Since a few hundred years ago, home owners and good decorators have been choosing clocks as decorative devices in their homes. Today's models don't just provide the time correctly, but they also add glamour in your home, and help you on your daily chore.

Electronic clocks are pretty much the only kind that we see on today's market. They are reliable and easy to use. You will not have to worry about having them lose time like you do other kinds of clocks and they are cheap to run. An alarm clock is something that you need to have if you want to be able to get to work on time each day. These are often time zone clocks as well as they will allow you to change the time zone according to where you live.
